Translation: “Happy Birthday my two sons!” or… Feliz Cumpleanos Hijos (Happy Birthday sons!)
Wow, it feels surreal saying that. 
Today is July 15th, and Matthew’s 12th birthday!
We have a fun evening planned, and more fun coming up this weekend to celebrate before he and I head off together for our last summer camp in Leesburg, and then the big trip to El Salvador.
- Today is also the birthday of our new son, who is waiting in El Salvador. I told you before, they BOTH have the same birthday! How cool is that?!
I keep saying our “new son” when I really, really want to post his name here! (Our Agency said we can’t reveal him–or his information–until the adoption is official.)
We did manage to send some presents to him along with a note wishing him Happy Birthday, and that we’ll all be together, real soon.
Wow! The reality is sinking in.
Everyone says to us, “It’s just wonderful what you are doing… how lucky this little boy is going to be be… how great this is going to be for him…” when all I can think is… how we are the lucky ones.
I can’t help but think of what Paul said to the Church of Corinth, when he wrote in 2 Cor 9:12-15:
12 This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. 13 Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. 14 And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. 15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!
What an indescribable gift!
Thank you so very, very much for the prayers you are sending up for us, and for this little boy.
