El Salvador Adoption – Meet Our New Son
Posted July 30th, 2009
Please meet our new son, Nestor Alexis! He goes by the name of Nestor (Nes-toar). Photos are posted in the photos section. It’s okay if you want to hop over there and check it out. I’ll be here when you get back.
Today can be summed up as follows: We cried 50 gallons of tears. Warning: You WILL cry with what you’re about to read. If you get embarassed easily, read it when others aren’t watching you. Thank you so much for taking an interest in our story.
As I reflect on the day, there were five distinct sections. each with incredible depths of emotion that ranged from sheer fear and terror, to love, gratitude and beauty… an all the emotional baggage that pierces your heart, especially for Matthew.
El Salvador Adoption – Day 3
Posted July 29th, 2009
Okay, it’s official. We are officially overwhelmed.!
Whew! Everyday when we come back to this small outdoor, tropical hotel/motel our heads spend. We don’t really care about things like what’s for dinner, the hassles of our day at work, the 20 things we have to do this week, schedules to keep, activities we’re commited to, paying our bills… and all the other basura that occupies our lives (and yours!) back in the U.S.
Today was no different.

Hola from El Salvador – Adoption Day 1

John 13:34 - “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
Greetings for Day 1 from the land of volcanos: El Salvador!
Thought of the day: Could you truly love someone you’ve never met before?
After a 2 hr flight delay outa Miami Sunday night, we finally arrived at our hotel in San Salvador at 12:00a local time (2:00a EST). Then it was up early at 5a to begin an amazing day.
Goodbye Until San Salvador

As you know, I’m at Camp with 6 of our kids from church, and also teaching small group to 300 or more kids. Great, wonderful week.
As I head home tomorrow and prepare to travel to El Salvador on Sunday, I’ll tell you a great story.
Feliz Cumpleanos a Mis Dos Hijos!
Posted July 15th, 2009

Translation: “Happy Birthday my two sons!” or… Feliz Cumpleanos Hijos (Happy Birthday sons!)
Wow, it feels surreal saying that.
Today is July 15th, and Matthew’s 12th birthday!
We have a fun evening planned, and more fun coming up this weekend to celebrate before he and I head off together for our last summer camp in Leesburg, and then the big trip to El Salvador.
- Today is also the birthday of our new son, who is waiting in El Salvador. I told you before, they BOTH have the same birthday! How cool is that?!
El Salvador Travel Set
