Adoption Process = Fear, Power, Love & More
Posted May 27th, 2009
Here’s a verse we’ve held close–and recited as a family–during this long adoption process (4 versions, my emphasis in bold): 2 Timothy 1:7
- For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-discipline. (NLT)
- For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline. (NIV)
- For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control. (Amplified)
- God doesn’t want us to be shy with his gifts, but bold and loving and sensible. (Message)

A very quiet Mother’s Day, on purpose. In memory of Katherine Elizabeth Logullo, 4 years old today.
One day, we’ll all be together again… forever.
Adoption: Lesson in Patience
Posted May 7th, 2009
Today is Day 927 in our adoption.
Feeling strong and confident…
Isaiah 40:28-31
28 Have you never heard?
Have you never understood?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of all the earth.
He never grows weak or weary.
No one can measure the depths of his understanding.
29 He gives power to the weak
and strength to the powerless.
30 Even youths will become weak and tired,
and young men will fall in exhaustion.
31 But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.
