I-800a Immigration Forms Approved
Posted March 10th, 2009
Hola Amigos,
I’ve been working on my Spanish lately (thanks, Becky, Sandy S. and Rosetta Stone), and since this past Friday have been pondering this verse:
“Para los hombres es imposible —aclaró Jesús, mirándolos fijamente—, mas para Dios todo es posible” — Mateo 19:26
I’ll let you look it up: Matthew 19:26
As you know, we recently headed down to West Palm Beach to get fingerprinted as part of the Final I-800a U.S. Immigration Forms (USCIS) that have to be processed.
Why Immigration? We’ve got to have U.S. government permission to bring an orphaned child into the United States.
Why fingerprints? To prove we’re not bad guys.
Recall the first time we went for fingerprints in May 2007, our appointment was for 8:00 a.m. We arrived about 7:30 and stood in line with about 100 other people. It was packed and took forever to get processed. You can see a photo of a typical office here.
What a difference this time!

Save the plane… or strap on a parachute: Which should I do first?”

Every now and then, for no reason whatsoever… I strap on my boots, go outside, and kick a fire-ant hill or two. You know… to really stir stuff up.
This is one of those times.
