El Salvador Adoption – Approvals

AWAA announced today that more families have been approved by OPA. Snip from their blog post follows. I’m trying to find out TOTAL families now approved, and where we fall in that process.

We have had four more families dossiers approved by OPA this week.  Congratulations to those families whose dossiers have been approved!  We rejoice with your families and pray that God continues to bless your adoption journeys.

Heading to El Salvador – 8/23/08

Looks like I’m going to make a trip to San Salvador for “3-days” with Brian Luwis (AWAA CEO), his wife, and other AWAA ES families.

Note: I started putting together a list of people from the AWAA ES Board that say they are going (below). If you’re planning on heading down, email me (just your name and email) so I can add you to the list. Then before we split, I can forward everyone’s contact info to one another.

Okay. So… maybe like you, when I read the initial invite from Brian, some thoughts came to my mind – namely: What’s the purpose of this trip? Can anything be accomplished in only 1 full day (a Sunday) in San Salvador? Are we really going to be able to speak to government officials on a Sunday?

Adoption Paperwork – Problems?!

As expected, I had to be a nagging pain… (see my last post).

I called Susan Maines today after having sent three emails this week and getting no reply. (Still don't have an answer why I didn't get a reply, but believe me, I will get one.Guns)

Recall that Katie Spencer (El Salvador Coordinator) is on vacation, and Susan was checking to see if Alexis had received the paperwork we sent down before the July 4th holiday.

Adoption Progress (some…)

First, we received the following e-mail (below) from America World today. More paperwork details… Annoyed However, there does appear to be some good news in all of this, and at the very least, some movement. (Our dossier has been in San Salvador since 7/20/07).
