DTES (Dossier to El Salvador) Day!

Today we received notice that our dossier is complete. It will now be sent from AWAA in Mclean, VA to AWWAs staff in San Salvador. They will translate it from English to Spanish — takes about 1 week . What happens next?

Final Papers to Agency!

Wow! A big day today — ALL our documents are being sent to AWAA. Just a few days after Matt’s birthday, also!
Fedex again — taking no chances. 
We started this process officially in October 2006. But by the time the papers really started rolling in, it wasn’t until January 2007. So in actuality, we completed the paperchase process in about 7 months.
"7 Months?! Wow… that’s a long time!"
Yeah, we hear that comment also.
The reality: you can BLINK your eyes and 7 months goes by. Seven months — to collect papers in the scheme of a lifetime with your child?
Let’s keep things in perspective… quit being so dramatic, okay?
Paperchase Done! – Final Apostilles

Eight long months, but it appears all our paperwork is now done. We are rejoicing that it only took 8 months!
We’ve heard from many people the paper chase process can take 12 months, even longer.
Never understood why. (Now we do.)
Want to see all the documents we had to gather, get notarized and mail to Tallahassee for apostilles…
