What The Heck Is an ‘Apostille?’

Apostille. (Ap-OH-STEEL). A French word which means a certification. It’s used in English to refer to the legalization of a document for international use under the terms of the 1961 Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents.
Here’s a photo of a Florida Apostille. Each adoption document must have an apostille attached.
The only way you get one: MAIL all your original docs to Tallahassee, and pray they don’t get lost. (no kiddin) And don’t forget to include a check!
